Denis Ten Memorial Challenge 2025: Almaty Welcomes the World of Figure Skating

Overview

The Denis Ten Memorial Challenge returns to Almaty for four days of world-class figure skating steeped in legacy and emotion. Created in honor of Olympic medalist Denis Ten, the tournament brings together elite athletes and rising stars from more than 25 countries. Beyond medals, the event celebrates the values Denis championed—excellence, artistry, and inspiration for the next generation.

What to Expect

• International field: athletes from Korea, the USA, China and many other nations, alongside Kazakhstan’s strongest skaters.

• Disciplines: Women, Men (short and free programs) and Ice Dance (rhythm and free dances).

• Scale: around 150 athletes across four packed days—competitions by day and evening, with official practices in the morning.

• Wednesday, 1 October: Official practices; opening competition sessions.

• Thursday, 2 October: Women/Men short programs; Ice Dance rhythm dance.

• Friday, 3 October: Continuation of competition blocks; free programs; awards.

• Competition days (1–4 Oct): free entry for spectators (0+, subject to venue capacity).

• Gala “With a Dream to Olympus” — 4 Oct, 19:30: ticketed event with reserved seating.
